the organization of an international conference
Semantics without borders: morphemes, words, constructions, texts.
The conference will take place in Bielsko-Biala, Sept. 11-13, 2008.
The venue will be the University of Bielsko-Biala, ul. Willowa 2.

The main areas of interest for the conference are:
semantics in morphology (polysemy of affixes, semantics of grammatical cases, conceptual integration in compounds, acquisition of morphology etc.)
lexical semantics (theories of word meaning and semantic representation, cognitive principles in historical semantics, semantic relations, acquisition of lexical meaning, etc.)
semantics of grammar (grammaticalization, construction grammar, metaphor and metonymy in grammar, acquisition of syntax)
construction of meaning in context (cognitive foundations of pragmatics, semantics of speech acts, grounding in grammar, scenarios, frames and spaces in meaning construction, body in communication, intersubjectivity, acquisition of pragmatics)
motivation and embodiment of language
